Honors Festival
This is a non-competitive, unadjudicated recital for excelling music students who their teachers have deemed worthy of receiving honors. Teachers in the East Portland District are encouraged to select 1-2 students from their studios who they feel are most deserving and prepared to perform in the Honors Recital.
There are no specific criteria required for inclusion in this festival, other than teachers making sure that all chosen pieces are well-rehearsed. All playing levels are welcome, so the decision on which students to include is up to each individual teacher’s determination.
The Honors Recital is open to all acoustic instruments, duets, trios, and even small chamber groups. Original music, arrangements, and improvisation are welcome at this festival!
